Varsha struggles to normalize conversations about menstruation within her conservative South Asian family as she battles against (Aarti, played by Annie Koshy), her mother's firm traditional beliefs.
This biopic is a glimpse into Annie Koshy's story on she transformed her life from a traditional one of expectations and conformity to truly 'break-free' and become the modern independent woman she is today.
Aarti comes from a conservative family who has always thought of periods being something that need to be hidden from the males in the family. She believes that they are impure and thus always lays down rules and restrictions for Varsha (Maria-Crystal), her daughter, on what she can and cannot do while she is on her period.
The film highlights the need for communication between parents and children.
